helloI am thrilled to start a series of myths from various cultures this one is a Japanese urban legend called Kuchisake Onna or (slit mouthed woman) in English hope you all enjoy. The gameplay focuses on storytelling, stealth and decision making, there are also some puzzles for the player to solve, making gameplay more various. Slit Mouthed – 口裂け女 is a first-person horror adventure game based on a Japanese myth. Sadly because the things that bored me heavily outweigh the 2 things I did enjoy, I’m not going to recommend this game, but I wish Nyxtales all the best on their future projects. Also if at any point you do go for the good ending and you mess up, when loading in, it will put you in the basement with the Enemy AI running at you, there’s not way to escape it, if you’re on the lowest possible health don’t expect to survive that encounter. I was hoping this game would be more enjoyable but it just fell flat, from the story to the ridiculously easy puzzles, this game just left me with an empty feeling, I didn’t feel accomplished at all. In conclusion if you want to pick it up and try it, be my guest it’s only cheap, but the game is easily completed in about 10-15 minutes. Voice acting, I will have too 100% say that this is the strongest part of the game, I enjoyed the voice acting, but sadly just that alone doesn’t make this a good game, as said previously it’s just bang average. This one is the biggest lie of them all, the AI is not intelligent, she has the same walk bath whether she’s in the basement or on the roof, in certain areas even if you’re in plain site, she just walks past you and escaping her is extremely easy, just breaking line of sight will often do the trick.

I would’ve preferred a different take on Kuchisaki Onna, as it seems everyone dresses her as a school girl and it’s just so samey to the other ones, put her in some clothing from the Edo period as the character is from around about that time. Yeah the story was okay, can’t really say much about it, just the typical ‘Looking after a place at night’. Only 1 section made me feel like there was atmosphere and it’s when you go into the basement for the 3rd time (if you going for the good ending) where all the lights are turned out and you have to deal with her down there. So yes even though there are 3 ending, it just feels like 1. It indeed has 3 endings, none that really make you feel like you’ve accomplished anything different, the options are just Yes, No, Hit her with a bloody Axe, and the story ending only slightly changes depending on which one you choose, it felt very bland. I had been waiting so long to play this game and I have to say I feel let down. I’m gonna start by saying I didn’t want to give this a Positive review and I didn’t want to give this a Negative review either, It’s just bang average in my opinion. I don’t really know I spent half an hour trying to fix it and had to refund before my refund time ran out. Extremely Intelligent enemy AIĪs far as the game. had to refund it as cursor doesn’t line up with menus and items making it impossible to play, impossible to change menu to even try to find the ideal resolution also if you click both mouse buttons it goes to windowed. Also playing the game with low graphics settings/low rendering scale makes the game much much creepier, like PS1 era horror games. Really loved the atmosphere and the overall feel of the game. Overall, if you enjoy survival horror games with some good scares then I’d say give it a try. I was following this game since I first discovered it and it really lived up to the hype. It has a nice atmosphere and a challenging but fun task towards the end.
